About me

Péter Bergendy got his first camera - a Normal 8mm - from his grandfather at the age of six. From that moment film became part of his life.
Originally graduated as psychologist, where he wrote his thesis on horror film pschology. For ten years he was the chief editor of the german Cinema Magazine, he worked as academic researcher for the Hungarian Film Institute, also as a film distributor as well as radio and TV magazine editor.
As a director, his first feature film, a romantic comedy - Stop Mother Teresa! - was released in 2004 achieving national and international recognition for him. His latest work, a cold war spy film noir 'The Exam' has won New Directors Gold Hugo, in Chicago International Film Festival 2012. Currently Peter is developing his next feature film - apparently the first hungarian horror ever made.
For 20 years now he's been ditched in Hungarian and international commercial directing, his multiple award winning commercials are shown across the world.
He is a natural storyteller, has a cinematic approach to heuristically convey emotions and develop sincere connections to his subjects.
