About me

My name is Thiago, I'm 37 years old and I've been part of this industry for 15 years. I have worked for agencies like FCB, JWT, Leo Burnett, F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO, DDB and Translation LLC in three different countries: Brazil, Portugal and the US. I've also been lucky enough to win awards in festivals such as The One Show, D&AD, Clio, Art Director's Club and Cannes, where I won the first ever Film Grand Prix for a Latin American country. I was also featured as the 5th most awarded copywriter in the world by AdAge's Awards Report in 2015

Positions

Group Creative Director
Brooklyn, United States
November 2017 - Present (7 years)
Group Creative Director
New York, United States
November 2016 - November 2017 (1 year)
Associate Creative Director
New York, United States
October 2014 - August 2015 (10 months)
My first experience in the United States, working for Campbell's Soup. This was a great opportunity for me to learn about the peculiarities of this industry in America. Working for such an iconic brand was great. They had been doing things the same way for a few years and, in 2014, decided it was time for a shift. The Real, Real Life campaign ended up being something completely different from what they had made in the past and it was an honor to be part of the team behind it.
Senior Copywriter
Lisboa, Portugal
November 2009 - July 2011 (1 year 8 months)
Amazing city, amazing agency. This is where my integrated thinking really started to develop. Online assignments were also part of the routine, so I had the chance to learn a lot from that as well. At Leo Lisboa, which is how we call it, I had the opportunity to put out my first work that got international media repercussion, a social media website called TyrannyBook, developed for Amnesty International.
Actually, there's a few projects I made there that I still keep (with pride) in my book. Projects for clients such as Fiat, Amnesty International, Lidl, Staples, Lisbon Independent Film Festival, Corbis, Samsung, Fanta, and others.
Senior Copywriter
São Paulo, Brazil
January 2006 - October 2009 (3 years 9 months)
This was the second time I worked for JWT. Different creative leadership, different position on the team. JWT São Paulo gets lots of briefs from offices around the world, so here I had the chance to work on some projects outside of the country for the first time. I helped develop worldwide projects for Pfizer, and Unilever at JWT's offices in London, New York and Buenos Aires.
Editor
São Paulo, Brazil
June 2002 - January 2006 (3 years 7 months)
I've worked for Giovanni, FCB for almost four years. I began as an intern, but was hired as a junior copywriter after a couple of months. Around a year later I got promoted to copywriter. This is an agency that holds a very special place in my heart. That's where I got my first actual job, did my first campaigns and got my first awards. I've learned a lot working for clients like BMW, The Walt Disney Company, Fiat, and others.
