Michael MacGarry

Michael’s visual art extends from filmmaking to other artistic channels such as sculpting, photography and publishing. He was the recipient of the Standard Bank Young Artist Award in 2010 and his work continues to be exhibited both locally and internationally.

“Michael has an intriguing expressive style that carries through from his art to his filmmaking; we are very excited to have him join us,” says Peter Carr, Executive Producer of bouffant.

Michael has directed and co-directed commercials for brands such as Toyota, DSTV, Road Lodge, Albany and Appletiser. He has also written and directed five short films, which have featured at various international film festivals. In addition to this, Michael was recently nominated for the Huysmans Young African Filmmaker Award 2015.
