Karen’s career began at Ogilvy & Mather, which she joined as a graduate trainee in 1989.
She left O&M in 1991 to join DDB London. In the 15 years she spent with DDB, Karen worked with many of the Agency’s clients including Credit Suisse, Channel 4, the Financial Times, British Gas, which she ran for over two years and many of the Agency’s Unilever brands including Knorr, Marmite, Helmann’s and PG Tips. She managed the European Knorr account for a number of years ensuring that the core brand essence translated across markets. In 2000 Karen was promoted to Business Director and in 2003 she became Head of Account Management.
She left DDB to join The Red Brick Road as Managing Director in December 2006. Her duties included running the UK Tesco business, which is the biggest ad account in the UK. She was responsible for the day-to-day management of all parts of the business, from through the line work including in-store point of sale to all above the line work. Karen joined Publicis London as Chief Executive Officer in May 2011.
