Tarun Rai is the Chairman and Group CEO of Wunderman Thompson South Asia.
He returned to the Group after a seven-year stint at Worldwide Media, a BBC Worldwide-Times of India Group JV. Under Rai’s leadership Worldwide Media grew exponentially from just four magazines in 2008 to 15 consumer and six B2B magazines by 2014. In his prolific quarter century in advertising and media industry, Tarun has helped build some of India's most iconic brands, including those of Hindustan Unilever, Diageo, PepsiCo, Hero, Nestlé, GSK and Godrej. In today's dynamic and fragmented communication landscape, Tarun believes building diversity in capabilities and offerings combined with a ‘digital first’ approach is key to meeting clients’ business goals.
Inspiring growth through creative thinking and nurturing a culture of innovation are his focus areas.
Rai is an Advertising and Media professional with over 25 years’ experience. He holds a business degree and is an alumnus of the London School of Economics.
His passions include squash, golf and Indian contemporary art.
