Omkar Dhumal

Omkar Madhukar Dhumal is a Shehnai Player {Indian Woodwind Instrument}, Music Composer and Producer based in Mumbai, India. Omkar has learned and mastered his skills in Shehnai from his father, for more than a decade and currently he taking lessons from stalwart Dr. Arun Kashalkar, a Hindustani Classical Maestro. Omkar is a well established musician in Indian Music Industry and is the youngest Shehnai Player to have represented a traditional instrument like Shehnai in various genres, in Indian and World Music. Besides he is an ace music producer, a multi-intrumentalist, and has a knack for producing music with his own signature style. He has lend Shehnai for many Bollywood Music Projects, ranging over more than 50 movies, and has performed widely all across the world. He has extensively worked with noted musicians like A.R.Rahman, Ranjit Barot, A.Sivmani, Nitin Shawney, Nucleya, Dhruv Ghanekar, Pritam Chakraborty, Amit Trivedi, Sachin Jigar among many others. The first musician to represent Shehnai in Mtv Coke Studio and Unplugged 2012, Omkar has played a major role in promoting this rare and traditional instrument of India. His playing comprise a unique blend of genres, a brand new sound in itself. Apart from Shehnai he also likes to play Soprano Sax, Key Flute and other ethnic wood wind instruments. Currently, he is collaborating, producing music, recording, performing his originals and also touring with renowned singer Nakash Aziz. Omkar runs his production house "Eternal Imagery' which aims at creating music and collaborating with artists.. His strong musicality, an aesthetic approach for music, understanding of various genres makes him one of the most sought after musician to work with.
