I adore words. Frankly, I have a ridiculously inappropriate appetite for them. I like the way they roll effortlessly off your tongue. I like the way they sound when whispered in your ear, or bellowed over the wail of an electric guitar and mis-timed drums at a live gig, in a dive-bar. I had no option but to become a copywriter.
I am a strong communicator with more than 20 years’ experience in the corporate, and consulting sectors. I have a passion for writing, editing and building strong client relationships. As a freelance writer, I have written on an eclectic range of topics for my corporate; SMME; advertising, public relations and crisis communication firm; and publishing industry-related clients. My primary areas of expertise include business, financial services, information technology, luxury leisure and lifestyle consumer goods, and entrepreneurship. I have also written on conservation, motoring, sustainability, and travel and tourism.
For the past three years I have worked closely with advertising and public relations agencies creating bespoke content for their clients. In addition to feature articles, thought-leadership pieces, white papers, website copy, and speeches, I've also regularly ghost-written opinion-editorials for some of South Africa’s industry thought leaders. For the five years prior to that I was the executive editor and senior writer of a luxury, quarterly print magazine, while juggling a select number of long-term clients in the business advisory and tech arena.
